Day 2 - Little Switzerland in NC
Seriously..... we slept until about 10:30 am this morning. We were exhausted from day 1 - what a start! Yesterday was such an ordeal we decided to stick with our plan and just chill for the day. So we did exciting things like wash and dry our soaked goods (thank God for good rain suits!) and go sightseeing. Did you know Mt Mitchell in NC (see picture below) is the highest US mountain east of the Mississippi? (Hence "Little Switzerland" I suppose). Gorgeous rivers, olde timey railroad trains and tracks, locally owned shops and restaurants.... This is such a beautiful part of the world. We had a great day tooling around in smalltown North Carolina, eating Apple Pie, and just spending time with Jeff, Poly and Ruby (his dogs). THANK YOU JEFF! We had a great visit. But tomorrow it's time to head north again!
